We Built This City On Rock & Roll
// // Friday, November 11, 2005 // //

Art Brut brought their Cockney cockiness to Mercury Lounge last night to support their debut LP, Bang Bang Rock & Roll. "Are you ready, Art Brut?" was the question of the night and the band responded with a swagger-filled performance of their shout-along Brit-Popish tunes. Vocalist Eddie Argos slagged off Pete Doherty a couple of songs into the set, but fans had mixed reactions to this dismissive attack on British music's gearhead-of-the-moment. A bearded dwarf sporting a mohawk and wife-beater ruled the mosh pit during most of the show, but his attempts to treat the band to shots were unsuccessful. Check out Brooklyn Vegan for pictures and see if you can spot the Prince Vultan look-a-like.
